Villain

A villain is an antagonist character who is in active opposition to a lead character. Not all antagonists are necessarily villains, for their motives are not necessarily harmful. An antagonist who has a change of heart is considered reformed. An antagonist whose behavior is beyond his or her control is considered circumstantial.
