Description[]

This male Earth Pony, called "Steam Gear", is a snooty and excentrical clock and watch maker, whos spending most of his time designing and crafting pocket watches, but he'll also craft bigger models like floor and wand clocks for his customers.

He is living quite secluded and isn't very talkative to new ponies, but once he learns more about them and is comfortable around them, he'll start to speak without interruption and will joke around. Thanks to his work, he is very calm and tries to fulfill any task as careful as possible, but he also needs a lot of time to get things done. If there is not enough time or somepony pushes him to work faster, he easily gets nervous and does a lot of mistakes.

Steam Gear is also very fond of his clothing and likes to wear formal suits, regardless of the situation. He likes to "improve" his suits with materials from his store, despite looking a bit strange to other ponies.

History[]

Steam Gear was born into a working-class family in Canterlot. His father was a mechanic and had to work most of his time. Steam Gear didn't mind though, as he liked to play around in the workshop and was fascinated by the mechanical devices. Especially small and precise mechanisms attracted his attention and he started to work on bigger clocks, until he was experienced enough to work on smaller watches.

He managed to open his own shop, where he wanted to sell his clocks, but the business didn't go as well as planned. The ponies of the upper class didn't appreciate the work of the simple Earth Pony - until Steam Gear found a used suit in the garbage. It was a bit dirty and had some flaws, but he washed it and flicked the rifts with parts from the workshop. "Suddenly", his business went way better than before and he was able to improve his shop. Steam Gear also bough a new suit, which he modified right away, because he liked his "upgraded" versions with the mechanical parts better than the simple ones.

Today, Steam Gears shop is a renowned place in Canterlot, and offers a wide sortiment of high-quality watches and clocks. And he is still working to make the pocket watches even tinier, the floor clocks more artful and the entire clockworks more precise.

Other Info[]

This pony was heavily inspired by the "Steampunk" and "Clockpunk" genre.
