Gear Hooves is Unicorn whose ability of mechanics and engineering have most ponies in awe. Of course he's not the most social of beings and would rather stay in his workshop and work on his inventing, rather than going into Ponyville.
History[]
Ever since he could walk, Gear tinkered with things. Even at such a young age he hardly played with other ponies. When he graduated school, he went to an abandoned building, that used to be a blacksmith's workshop and set up his own shop.

He's one of the only beings in Equestria that is able to build complex machines without magic.
