Description[]
Hope is Schatten's younger sister, and daughter of alicorns; Nightmare Moon and Sturben. While taking on the form of a young mare, Hope is actually 1000 years old, born shortly before Nightmare Moon's banishment. Unlike her father and her brother, Hope tries to help others using her ability to peer into the future, rather than try to destroy the world. Because of this, Hope was disowned by her father 800 years ago, an act which actually saved her from the fate of her brother, being trapped in a stone pillar following the defeat of Sturben. She lives on the border of society, only coming into contact with others when they are in dire need. To those she helps she is considered a guardian angel of sorts.
Special Talent[]
Hope is gifted with the ability to see into the future. These appear as nightmares of death and destruction. The clarity of these visions depends on its likelihood and the time remaining before it occurs. Regardless of the vision she always has a rough idea of where the tragedy will strike. While she can see the flow of time, she is incapable of directly manipulating events. Like most other Timeponies she must interfere with the location itself and be a part of the events to prevent her dreams from coming true. While her gift has saved countless lives over the centuries, the burden and responsibility has left Hope psychologically fragile, however she is quite capable of hiding it.
History[]
Hope was created in August 2011 when her creator came to the conclusion that all alicorns have an equal and opposite alicorn counterpart. (For instance, Celestia is goddess of the sun, Luna is the goddess of the moon) Hope is the counterpart of her brother Schatten, the god of doom, who is planned to appear in several fanfictions in the future. For the moment, Hope has not appeared or been planned to appear in any current FanFictions as the risk of her becoming a plot-device is to great. However mention of her existence has been made.
