Lagow (also called Captain Lagow) was the former Captain of the Canterlot Royal Guards and the father of Lord Anders. Lagow had formerly attempted to control Equestria, and later raised his son to do the same.
History
In the past Lagow was the captain of the Royal Guards under Princess Celestia and Luna. However, Lagow schemed to overthrow Celestia and Luna with help from his minions and become King himself, but the two sisters put an end to his evil plan. As punishment for his crime Lagow was banished from Equestria.
After his Crime
Sometime after his crime he headed to a Distant Land and met a female pegasus, whom he would later marry. Eventually his wife gave birth to Anders (who would later became the Demon Pegasus). Anders soon discovered that he possessed great abilities. Lagow made him practice every night, and eventually revealed to his son that he was once Equestria's most notorious crime boss and that he used to be the Captain of the Royal Guards. He then explained to his son that it was his duty to avenge him by one day defeating Princess Celestia and Luna, as well as claiming Equestria for him.
Every Day, Lagow took him on supposed "walking trips", keeping the truth from his wife, in which he would train him to fight animals, such as goats and timberwolves. Doing this Anders excelled in the art, also becoming colder and more distant. Lagow eventually succeeded in teaching his son how to fight; he was impressed with Anders's skills. Sometime later, When it was time for Anders to fight against his father, Anders refused, causing Lagow to become furious, call him weak, and make a threatening advance toward his son. Anders quickly pulled his father Lagow on the ground and explained to him that it was he who was weak, because the Princesses had stripped him of his life.
The shocked and enraged Lagow reprimanded his son for using force against him. He quickly reminded Anders that he believed his son were supposed to become enforcer of his revenge scheme, but Anders refused to accept this and flung Lagow into the ground. Anders then ran away (as he decided to take over Equestria for himself), prompting Lagow to search for him for days. He never found him and concluded that he must have perished. Thereafter, Lagow gave up on extracting his revenge against the Princesses and died a few years later.
